Online or In-Person Therapy?

You may want a separate place for therapy, or you may need appointments that do not add another drive. I offer in-person sessions in Manhattan Beach and online sessions across California, Arizona, and Missouri. We can discuss what fits your circumstances.

What are the advantages of meeting in person?

An office gives you a place away from household interruptions. The trip there and back may also create time to leave work behind or sit with what you discussed before returning to daily responsibilities.

I meet in a private Manhattan Beach office. The exact location is shared after consultation, not published here. Travel time, parking arrangements, and current appointment availability are practical questions to raise before choosing this format.

What can online therapy offer?

Video sessions can make attendance more practical when a commute, caregiving responsibility, or changing workday limits your time. You can meet from a familiar setting without crossing the city.

The convenience does not remove the need for attention. A session still needs time set aside, a suitable connection, and somewhere you can speak without being overheard. Working at the same time as therapy would divide that attention.

How do I find privacy at home?

Think about who can hear you, who may enter, and whether notifications will interrupt. Headphones can reduce sound from the call, but they do not prevent someone nearby from hearing your voice.

If your living situation makes privacy difficult, tell me before the appointment. We can discuss options rather than assume a closed door is enough. You do not need to share treatment details with housemates to ask for uninterrupted time.

Can I switch between online and in-person sessions?

We can discuss changing formats when your circumstances change, subject to availability and clinical suitability. A move, a busy week, or wanting more separation from home may prompt that conversation.

I am licensed in California, Arizona, and Missouri. For online appointments, where you are physically located matters, not just your mailing address. Tell me about travel before scheduling; being out of state may affect whether we can meet.

What should I ask before booking?

Ask about available times, privacy, and what we will do if the connection drops. Having a plan in advance avoids trying to decide how to reconnect during a difficult conversation. Online care is not suitable for every situation.

Individual sessions last 45 minutes and couples sessions 60 minutes in either format. My free consultation is a chance to discuss fit. The Rates page explains private pay, superbills, and cancellation details, including the 48-hour notice requirement.

What Else Might You Want to Know?

Does online mean phone therapy?
Here, online sessions use video. We can discuss technical questions and a connection-drop plan before beginning.
Can I attend while traveling?
Tell me where you will be. Online appointments require clients to be located in California, Arizona, or Missouri, and we discuss eligibility before meeting.
Do couples need to be in the same room?
We can discuss joining together or from separate locations, including privacy and whether the arrangement is appropriate for the work.
