Life Transitions

Between one chapter and the next

For the seasons when life rearranges itself and you're not sure where you fit yet.

Who it is for

Change, wanted or not

Even good changes can knock the wind out of you. A promotion, a baby, or a new city brings losses alongside the gains, and those losses rarely get talked about.

Naomi moved from Germany to the US at sixteen, so she knows how disorienting a fresh start can be.

What it can feel like

  • Grieving a life you chose to leave
  • Not recognizing yourself in a new role
  • Feeling behind your friends
  • Wondering what all of this has been for

What we work on

Common crossroads

Moving

A new city, a new home, or a new country with new rules.

New parenthood

Identity, sleep, and a relationship that suddenly has a third person in it.

Career change

Leaving a path, starting over, or losing a job unexpectedly.

Breakup or divorce

Untangling a shared life and finding your own footing.

Midlife questions

Asking what you want the second half to look like.

Kids leaving home

A quiet house and a role that has changed shape.

How Naomi works

Making sense of the in between

Narrative therapy is especially useful here. We look at the story you've been living and what you want the next part of it to say.

Naomi also pays attention to what the change stirs up from the past. A move can echo an earlier move; an ending can wake an old loss.

What can shift

Settling into a new shape

Clients sometimes leave a transition with a clearer sense of who they are now, not only who they used to be. It may take a while, and it doesn't follow a schedule, but there is room to discover it together.

What sessions look like

Wherever you land

Because sessions can be online, you can keep seeing Naomi through a move within California, Arizona, or Missouri. Weekly meetings give some steadiness while everything else shifts.

Fees in brief

Individual or couples

Solo sessions are 45 minutes, at $200 with Naomi or $150 with an associate. When a change affects both partners, a 60 minute couples session is $250, or $175 with an associate. Rates and Insurance

Questions

About life transitions

Can couples come for a transition?
Yes. Moves, babies, and retirements often affect both partners.
I'm moving out of state. Can I continue?
Only if you're in California, Arizona, or Missouri during sessions. Naomi can help you find someone new.
Is it normal to grieve a happy change?
Very. We make room for mixed feelings.
